Effect of autologous peritoneum and platelet-rich fibrin graft on healing of intestinal anastomosis in dogs

In the present study, effect of autogenous peritoneum graft (PG) with platelet rich fibrin (PRF) was evaluated on intestinal anastomosis healing in dogs. Eighteen local breed adult dogs were anesthetized then jejunal resection and created all animals. Animals divided into 3 equal groups (6 for each). first group (control): An end-to-end performed using simple interrupted suture pattern only. PG: The site sutured as control wrapped PG. Where PRF+PG group: also PRF Healing process studied above mentioned clinically, grossly, histologically radiographically at 15 30 days post operation. Results revealed that utilizing PG caused a valuable influence healing. This impact manifested by faster re-epithelization mucosa, increased collagen deposition, fibroblast proliferation, reduced adhesions, decreased stenosis degree comparison group. Also there less degree, epithelization mucosa treated than alone. conclusion current study has shown autologous peritoneal application positive beneficial results highlighted promising effects conjunction is successful, safe, highly efficient no complications.
